This week, Mexican rapper “QBA” (real name Christian Omar Palma Gutierrez) — who has over a hundred thousand followers on YouTube — confessed to prosecutors that he helped dissolve the bodies of three murdered film students in sulfuric acid at the direction of a drug cartel.

Gutierrez was detained last month in Jalisco, Mexico, on suspicion of involvement in the kidnapping and murder of three film students — Salomon Aceves Gastelum, 25, Daniel Diaz, 20, and Marco Avalos, 20 — who were abducted in March by members of the Jalisco New Generation drug cartel while filming a school project at the house of one of the students’ aunts.

Jalisco New Generation members had been watching the house because it was a former hangout of the rival gang Nueva Plaza, whose leader had recently been released from prison, the New York Post reports. Believing the students to be members of the rival gang, the Jalisco hit men, disguised as police officers, abducted the students.

The cartel members then took the students to a safe house, where they tortured them, beating one of them so badly that he died. In response, the gang murdered the other two and then took them to another location, where they dumped them in sulfuric acid.
